This photograph of the extension to the University of Botswana Library was taken by Julie Tallman in September 1999. It is taken from the New Humanities Building. In the left-centre background, the new library building is taking shpe, with a crane towering above it. Just to its right is a lower yellow-coloured building, which is the present Library.
Directly below the new structure can be seen a bare tree, and just visible behind this tree is the simple single-storey building which was the original library building (now subdivided into offices) - a striking illustration of the growth of the University.
